General Display Trouble Shooting

  • When I send a new layout to my display from the Avire Hub the display is not updating. What do I do?

Updating the display requires the new layout to be saved to the local SD on the display. The most likely cause of this issue is a locked SD card. Check the side of the SD Card to ensure the slide switch has not been moved to the lock position.

  • When the E-Series detector is triggered, the doors continue to close when they should re-open. What is causing this?

The lift door contacts could be faulty, check the door contacts

PRP Display Trouble Shooting

  • I have installed the E-Motive PRP display and the screen is working but it keeps switching off. What do I do?

This is due to the E-Motive PRP display being set in ‘Power Mode Save’. This can be changed using the tact switches on the back of the screen, to turn ‘Power Mode Save’ to ‘OFF’. Refer to the PRP documentation for further details.

Navigation Box Trouble Shooting

  • There was a power outage and the Nav Box is no longer displaying the floor numbers or arrows. Do I need to start the learning process again?

No, if the Nav Box had previously completed the learning process it will remember its floors. In the event of a power outage, the Nav Box will need to recalibrate by simply making a trip to the top floor and then to the bottom floor.

  • There is a DIP switch on the Nav Box. What do the switch positions mean?

Switches 1 and 2 are used for elevator shaft address selection. This allows you to select the shaft where the device is placed. From 1 to 4*.

Switch 3 enables manual initiation of learning mode without a display installed (this function is not recommended).

Switch 4 controls the MKCANbus termination resistor (end of line or through).

*Important - Shaft number must correspond to the other items connected along the MKCANbus e.g. PSP, PRP, DCP, DAU etc. Ensure this is the same as your display.

  • There is "MKCAN SET" on the PxP to ensure that the display is setup correctly on the CANBus using jumper switches. What do the switch positions mean? (PxP = PRP or PSP)

You must ensure that if your E-Motive PxP display is correctly configured on the CANbus. This can be configured by using the jumper switches ‘SEL’ and ‘TER’.

SEL - By default, this is set to Pin 1 and 2 ("ON").

TER - By default, this is set to Pin 2 and 3. Change to Pin 1 and 2, if the PxP Display is either the first or last device on CANbus.

  • How do I enter the on-screen display (OSD) menu to start the learning process?

To activate the OSD menu, press both SW3 and SW 4 at the same time. These switches can be found at the back of the PxP display or by using the magnet activator provided. (Fig A)

  • I have installed the E-Motive display and Nav Box and ensured that the wired connections are correct, but when I start the learning process I keep getting the following message; 'Self learn setting shows 'Not applicable'.

This is due to the ‘Lift information input type - Serial’ being set incorrectly as ‘E-Motive 4 wire’, this needs to be changed to ‘MKCANBus’ using the OSD menu.

C1L Display Trouble Shooting

  • I have installed an E-Motive CAR indicator screen (C1L) and using it to display advertising, although this is installed within the car, I'm not using it to display lift information or receive lift signals. The screen is workign ok, but after a certain period of time, it switches off. How do I prevent this from happening?

If the screen has not been set as a Hall Indicator it will be expecting lift signals to prevent the display from entering sleep mode. To set the display as a Hall Indicator, please do the following:

Ensure that the Dip Switch, position 1, is set to ‘ON’

This setting is available on all C1L Screens

iS2LX Display Trouble Shooting

  • I have installed an E-Motive IS2 display and I have a layout with a video playing. The video plays but then stops and goes blank.

The cause of the video stopping and going blank will be due the video BIT rate being too high for the iS2 display processor. For optimized iS2 display performance, we recommend the following:

    Frame rate: 24 fps

Video resolution: no more than 1280x720

Bit rate: no more than 3000kb/s
