  • What is DTMF?

    Dual-tone multi-frequency

    The tones that are heard when you press the buttons on a touch-tone telephone and allows you to send data via PSTN. DTMF assigns a specific frequency (consisting of two separate tones) to each key. This is also the system that most emergency telephones use to transfer information e.g background call information.

  • What does GSM mean?

    Global System for Mobile Communication.

  • What is the difference between GSM and GPRS?

    GSM is only voice and GPRS is voice and data.

  • What is PSTN?

    Publicly Switched Telephone Network is the worldwide voice telephone network. THE PSTN Line is the conventional analogue telephone line that allows an emergency telephone to call.

  • What is a gateway?

    A network element that performs conversions between different coding and transmission formats. The gateway does this by having many types of commonly used transmission equipment and / or circuits from different carriers to provide a means of interconnection.

  • What is IP?

    Internet Protocol. A packet-based protocol for delivering data across networks.




  • What is VoIP?

    Voice over Internet Protocol. A protocol for transmitting the human voice in digital form over the Internet or other networks as an audio stream, instead of using traditional telephone lines. VoIP uses the Internet Protocol (IP), but is not limited to communication by computer.



  • What is 3G or UMTS?

    Universal Mobile Telecommunications System represents an evolution in mobile network in terms of capacity, data speeds and new service capabilities.


  • What is 4G or LTE?

    Fourth generation mobile network that provides increased performance.



  • Are your telephones compatible with P100?

    Yes, we supply P100 compatible lift emergency phones. 

  • Are your telephones compatible with VdS?

    We have a VdS compatible DCP. Please contact us to discuss this requirement.
